Darwin2009 Houston supporters recognize the importance of science education and how science affects every life. Charles Darwin's scientific contributions were and remain critical to the continuing development of the biological sciences.

In recognition of the importance of Charles Darwin's writings, Darwin2009 Houston will offer and publicize events and resources about natural selection, evolution, and genetics during 2009 which marks the bicentennial of Darwin's birth and the sesquicentennial of the publication of On The Origin of Species.

The Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center (HAM-TMC) Library is hosting this website to serve as a nexus of information for the Houston/Harris County area.
